Walter’s Collaboration with Renowned Rock and Roll Photographer Reimaging iconic Musicians Through Contemporary Fine Art

Inspired by a portrait photograph taken by Gered Mankowitz during a Marianne Faithfull recording session, Paul ’67 captures a unique moment in London’s vibrant music scene. At the time, Mick Jagger was producing Faithfull’s recording session, and Paul McCartney stopped by the studio to lend his support to the project.

The artwork reflects McCartney’s unmistakable style and the electric energy of the era through fluorescent pinstripes on the jacket and a vividly reimagined Union Jack scarf. While evoking the spirit of 1960s London, Knabe and Mankowitz also sought to preserve the natural ease and genuine attitude captured in the original casual portrait.

The 27” x 18” artwork is an edition of 200, signed by both Walter Knabe and Gered Mankowitz. Created using Walter's signature hand-crafted screen printing and hand-painted detail on heavy, tactile paper.

A certificate of authenticity, signed by both Walter Knabe and Gered Mankowitz, will be provided along with the purchase of the screen print.
