Inspired by Gered Mankowitz’s 1967 black-and-white portrait “Jacket & Hands,” Jimi ‘67 reimagines one of Jimi Hendrix’s most iconic looks through contemporary fine art.
The artwork preserves the integrity of Mankowitz’s original photograph — featuring Hendrix in his fashion-forward military-style jacket while capturing both his spirit and the bold London aesthetic of the 1960s. Fluorescent patterning, layered sleeve colors, and a vivid green background evoke the psychedelic energy of the era.
The 24" X 24" artwork is an edition of 200, signed by both Walter Knabe and Gered Mankowitz. Created using Walter's signature hand-crafted screen printing and hand-painted detail on heavy, tactile paper.
A certificate of authenticity, signed by both Walter Knabe and Gered Mankowitz, will be provided along with the purchase of the screenprint.
