A special collaboration between Walter and renowned rock and roll photographer, Gered Mankowitz.
The fourth in the collection is Keith Richards, titled Keith ‘82. The edition of 200 was created using a portrait photo shot by Mankowitz for the London Observer’s magazine feature on the Rolling Stones 1982 World Tour.
The artwork captures Keith’s rock and roll look. The muted lavender background and copper patina green jacket speak to Keith’s electric, ethereal nature. His iconic love of skulls is represented with the necklace, while the gritty look of his face embodies his charismatic persona.
The 24” x 24” piece is signed by both Knabe and Mankowitz. It blends Knabe’s signature hand crafted screen printing and hand painted detail, using 13 paint colors intricately layered on heavy, tactile paper.
A certificate of authenticity, signed by both Walter Knabe and Gered Mankowitz, will be provided along with the purchase of the screen print.
About Walter Knabe Limited Edition Screenprints
Hand crafted original artwork, developed layer by layer in an approach similar to how Walter develops his original paintings. Each color is a separate screen and hand printed separately on every print in the edition. Each piece of paper in the edition is hand ripped to accommodate the custom size of each print.
